Our team

The people who write, check, and ship every page.

Nexus Dev Company is built by a small, cross-functional crew working across three time zones. Editors, researchers, designers, and engineers — each named, each accountable for what we publish.

Leadership

The four people who set direction, sign off on what ships, and answer for it when something goes wrong.

Ava Chen

Editor-in-Chief

Sets the editorial calendar, picks the topics we take on, and makes the final call on tone and scope. Previously a senior editor at a national newspaper; eight years at Nexus Dev Company.

Marcus Okafor

Lead Researcher

Owns research methodology and source standards. Reads through primary literature so writers don't have to start from scratch. Background in policy research; six years at Nexus Dev Company.

Priya Raman

Design Director

Shapes the look, feel, and reading rhythm of the site — typography, colour, layout, and the small details that make long-form work readable. Five years at Nexus Dev Company.

Jonas Weber

Engineering Lead

Keeps the site fast, accessible, and privacy-respecting — and quietly removes anything that gets in the way of the writing. Four years at Nexus Dev Company.

By department

How we work

A few habits we try to keep, regardless of who's writing or what we're publishing.

Bylines, always

Every article carries the writer's name. No unsigned pieces, no ghost-edited shortcuts.

Independent fact-check

Someone other than the writer verifies every claim before it ships. No exceptions for tight deadlines.

Slow over loud

We publish less than most outlets on purpose — only what we can stand behind a year from now.

Remote, async

We work across three time zones with deep-work blocks and very few meetings. Writing happens in writing.

Want to write or work with us?

We commission a small number of freelance writers, researchers, and illustrators each quarter, and occasionally hire full-time. If careful, well-sourced work is your thing, we'd love to hear from you.
